my heart is saddened

an elementary school

in new jersey
suffering in fear and sadness
following a school shooting

i teach school
i work with children
i am a mother
of a boy
 i send off
to school each day
 i have always
felt school was to be a place of safety
oh my

guns

shooting

schools

innocent children

and
