i do not know when it happened...

my love and passion

for INCREDIBLE 

STORMS

i just know it did.

naturally,

i never wish for harm to be done.

my hope is to experience

what my finite mind

could never imagine

and then live to tell about it.

i believe

"STORM CHASER"

would be an adequate description for me

minus the equipment,
the training,

and knowlege of the making

of a perfect STORM

friday, the 13th of september
(yes...friday the 13th)

as i was leaving my classroom,

it was evident

that a STORM was brewing.

i had my camera in hand

determined to finally

capture the bold flowers

that greet me daily.

my eyes were distracted

by the dark sky

in the background

of the bright yellow flowers.

 an unusual shaped cloud appeared
immediately, i dropped everything,
grabbed my camera
and clicked away.

one of my childhood friends

witnessed many tornadoes.

she described

colors of purple and green...

there...hints and traces of purple and green

the cloud dipped 

towards the ground.

noah was waiting at his school
and so i could not follow it through to the end

the question...

was it just a strange cloud

or did i just observe

the spectacular?

i probably needed a professional camera

with a photographer's education

and a particular filter.

a happy accident

i have driven by this boutique

numerous times

intrigued by the unique and bright decor

but never ventured in

noah and i just happened to be in the neighborhood

i talked him into going inside...

mesmerized by the diversity and quality of furniture
books.
clothing.
bedding.
trinkets.
toys...

for a moment,

 i felt deprived 

for not having

 little girls to dote on

yet noah seemed perfectly content
and left with his own purchase

 i felt that i had found my happy place

a place of

exploration.

magic.

charm.

dreams.

sunshine.

imagination.

creativity.

fairy tales.

truly a place to bask in the talents of others

and my boy has a basketball game

at the SOUTH JORDAN 
MIDDLE SCHOOL

we know the drill

hurry for the uniform

hurry for the socks

hurry find the ball

hurry eat your breakfast

all that hurrying about takes it toll

on the happy-meter

not the best way to start the day...

feeling frustrated

as we were hurrying to the door

hurry turned to stop

immediately

the color worked it's magic on my mood

now it was noah saying

HURRY

these are just a few of the reasons

that i carry my camera with me

everywhere i go.

noah went in to warm up

i took photos

i could not control the shadows

the lighting

the art

i could only breathe it in

SPRING is such a beautiful season

though

it sneaks up on you

and leaves in the blink oh the eye.

in the past

i have observed barren branches

that like magic

are clothed
in exquisite blossoms
and i wonder

when did that happen?

i would not let it take me un aware
