what is your favorite book?

another question

within a plethora of questions

if i am going for the BOOK

that brings great peace to me

my family, life everlasting

and the quality of my day

the BOOK of

 mormon

the BOOK that challenges

as to level of difficulty

is "jesus the christ"

jesus is always my favorite subject

the wording, the subject matter,

the intensity makes this BOOK a

challenge for me to read

i usually have to

read a page more than once

the BOOK that made a difference

in my thinking

"the peacegiver"

i had been taught to forgive

but a principle i learned

from this BOOK

was and is

withholding
  forgiveness

is like telling christ

what he did in gethsemene

and on the cross wasn't

enough for me to forgive

a certain act or person

(that includes forgiving myself)

the book that i have

given as a gift

"grandfather's 
gold watch"

by one of my ancestors

throughout the BOOK

two questions are asked repeatedly

"what have you done with your name?

what have you done with your time?"

two questions asked regularly

may cause me to think

before acting

finally

which at times

can be paralyzing

i observe others

that dwell on their
imperfections

this BOOK reminds me

that it really only

matters what god thinks

he is my creator

he made me

i am the workmanship
of his hands and he doesn't make mistakes 

what is your favorite BOOK?

SMALL AND SIMPLE THINGS

almost daily i ponder

by SMALL and SIMPLE things

are great things brought to

pass...alma 37:6

i have heard it said

that the SMALL and SIMPLE

is 

(arctic circle thinks so as well)

only one could possibly know of the

great things i stand in need of

i am perplexed

what are the SMALL things 

that will bring about the great

blessings i desperately need?

how about the society page?

a voluntary act from a woman in my ward

out of the goodness of her heart

not out of obligation or calling

the newsletter contains:

agenda for the day

notes from last week's lesson

the monthly primary theme

young women activities

important dates and events

a recipe

inspirational thought

visiting teaching message

"good news minutes" shared

birthdays of everyone in the ward

all on the double sided pink page

she copies and delivers them

it is something that everyone looks forward too

that one SMALL  act and idea is

a great big deal

to a whole lot of people

everyone is kept in the loop

a few times, i was out of town

and by golly if the

newsletter didn't appear on my email

thanks sherry

for the difference that you make!

or the student that takes a trip to germany

and thinks about me while she is gone

how do i know she thought of me?

she brought me home a SMALL token of her vacation

which put a huge smile on my heart

(and in my tummy)

sage made a difference

there is an everlasting list

of people who have been about SMALL acts

producing great outcomes

thanks to you all

what SMALL things can i add?

what are yourSMALL things

that make the great things possible?

FARMER'S MARKET

here's a fresh way to spend

your saturday morning

the south jordan towne center

FARMER'S MARKET

seeing the vibrant 

fruits and vegetables

smelling the bread

tasting the jams and salsas

having a handmade, homemade tamale

(i brought home one chicken and one pork...

i hear the mole are to die for

but i was a wee bit too late...

they were all gone. my family loved it

including noah...

a very tough critic)

visiting with people in the

community

is time well spent

farmers and vendors

have an opportunity

to gather together

to share in the harvest

everyone seems happy

and appears to enjoy

themselves

august through october

reap the benefits

of nature,

the hard work

and passions of others

mingle with neightbors

and enjoy community spirit

i hope to see you on saturday.

RIVAL ON THE FIELD, IN GROCERY STORES

there is a great deal of emotion

on the football FIELD

with fans in the stands

or at a local sports bar,

in front of the television,

and yes !

in the GROCERY stores

(goodies, snacks, memorabilia at 

HARMON'S grocery

store on redwood and south of 10600)

shoppers in blue

most in red

even tillers and baggers

joined in

the fierce competition so thick,

palatable and delicious

i could almost taste it

though i am a brigham young

 university

graduate married to a

brigham young superfan

i was also born of university

 of utah parents

surrounded by head to toe crimson red brothers

which means

when these two teams play

i always come out a winner

because someone i love

is rejoicing over the outcome

on september 15, 2012

the university 

of utah (still wears the smiles)

while the remaining, though may be feeling

blue, held on to hope until

the last micro second

even after ute fans

ran onto the field

most everyone loves an awesome

game with an

exciting ending

or should i say endings
