DEJUNK !

Resolution #2

dejunk
dejunk everything!
the garage, the files, my closet, the boxes,
my photos
my computer
my thoughts
my regrets

letting go is so hard for me
i have boxes from delta airlines
boxes from oakridge
thinking that i need to keep it
“JUST IN CASE”

tip: for those papers you aren't ready
to part with...
scan and save on the computer and usb

a woman where i work
posted a thought
“you can’t reach
for anything new
if your hands
are still full with
yesterdays junk”

tip: if you need an extra push
let a few mice loose
their poop
will lead to a quick disposal
2 truck load fulls to the city dump
3 garbage cans on garbage day
4 trips to the DI
and i am seeing progress

ICE ICE BABY AND SOUTH JORDAN FUN

 RESOLUTION #1
make sure my promises mean something
practically every single day before and after christmas
"will you please take us skating...you promised"
true, i promised
i had ample excuses why it would not
happen on that particular day
*get ready for christmas
*too cold and no proper gear
*prepare for renters
*the mountain of laundry
 blah, blah, blah, blah, blah
(oh...so that is why the adults on the
charlie brown specials sound like they do)
it was the last saturday before i returned to work
"now or never" as noah phrased it
now i could not use the excuse of nothing to wear
we grabbed our newly purchased garb
and headed to the south jordan
fountain
skates are $2.00
(if you have the choice, pick the black over the brown
i learned the hard way one ankle blister later)
free if you have your own skates
 rather picturesque
noah was the first to brave the ice
rick called me the "tin man"
because of the ankle blister limiting my motion
6 times around, 1 sock/skate readjustment, and 1 big biff
i called it a night
the look in rick's eyes spoke the word
"wimp"
off he went with grace and flair
and a look of
"watch me go"
a short 2 feet and then to the ground
i was the "tin man" so
i couldn't help him to his feet
he literally had to roll over, crawl on the ice
until he could pull himself up on the concrete wall
i laughed until my tears froze

 again noah retorted
"you guys are an embarrassment to me"
 i warmed my hands
hypnotized and mesmirized by the fire's dance
i probably shouldn't have
but i chuckled at a spilled hot chocolate
into a row of shoes
(someone is going to have warm toes
and sweet tootsies when they get off the ice)
and off to the pie
to end our evening
with on over the top amazingly delicious pizza
a promise fulfilled
a whole lot of fun
