i did not realize how much i would miss my boy

14 days is an awfully looooonnnggg time

hearing his voice

texting him

became the highlight of my day

i wanted his HOMECOMING

to be something special

so i painted a bright sign

 taped it to the door

 ordered bold colored balloons

 a few little surprises on his bed

 and waited

 and waited some more

 at almost the stroke of midnight

all of them
safe, happy, giddy
as the adventure was retold
